Five Lakes Lodge - Canadian Fishing Trip 2005

Well we had another fantastic week up at Five Lakes Lodge this year.  With a crew of three, Mongo, Mr. Magabagoo and me, we packed up the rented mini van and set out on the drive north.  Now all I have to say about the 18 our drive is that next time Magabagoo is taking the first shift.  Why you ask? Well you see this law abiding citizen cannot exactly legally drive in the great state of Wisconsin. This of course is about 10 hours of the drive so you do the math.

As usual we arrive early and as usual our gracious hosts take care of us. After a slow start it steadily picked up with the week ending with 2 100 plus days. Mr. Magabagoo, a first timer to the great fishing lakes of Canada, seemed to have luck on his side. His 3 rd fish ever in the Great White North was a very nice 7 lb Walleye. I think that puppy with the hook that will keep him coming back. The big day was Thursday, Mongo and I set out in the morning and proceeded to catch about 75 fish by lunch time. We headed back to eat lunch and pick up Magabagoo who went to play golf and head out for the evening bite. The day just never wanted to let up, by the time we had to head in for the day we had a total of 148, 125 for Mongo and me and 23 for Magabagoo. We ended the trip with a good catch of 102. Now we could have easily added to that total but unfortunately we had to pack up and leave. The week was too short but the weather was perfect and I am sure next year will be even better.
