It's Time To Get Out Of The House!

HUNTING FISHING OUTDOOR FUN FRIENDS OF THE GREAT OUTDOORSMEN

On January 14th while out hunting for rabbit and quail with Mr. Magabagoo and his friend goods things happened. Ok so the quail and rabbit hunting was not the best getting only 2 quail and 1 rabbit but what else came out of it made up for it. As we walked through the fields in search of the other prey Magabagoo and his friend came upon a monsterous shed. Then but only a few yards away the came upon closure for poor poor Barney, a buck. There was nothing left but bones and thankfully the rack. Magabagoo and his friend took up there prizes and headed back to the truck where I sat unaware of the events that just took place. As he sees then enter the clearing I was amazed even at that distance at the size of the shed Magabagoo is holding. At first I thought his friend was carrying the other one but ass they got closer they asked me if it looked familier? A little shocked I realized it was a whole head of a buck with antlers intact and yes it did look familier. 2 months ago I shot it with my bow and was unable to find it. Well atleast at the time I thought it was the same one. After talking excitedly about both finds I had Magabagoo take me back to where they found the full head. I wanted to find proof it was mine so I could claim a successful hunt for the 2005 season. Finding it again proved to be frustrating. After about 10 minutes I came upon a circle of what appeared to be hair and about 20 yards behind me was the remains of the buck they had found. . They had not seen the circle of hair when they found the bones. I called Magabbagoo over to show him where the buck bed down for his last time. Upon his arrival I told him to look at the middle of the hair. Sqinting his eyes he saw a stick. A recomendation to look again helped him realize it was the remains of an arrow with the broadhead attached. Yes I had closure at that very moment as that was MY arrow without a doubt. The funny thing about it all is after shooting the buck I had waited in the stand to allow it to bed down and die. After about 30 minutes I got down and exited the opposite way giving it ample time and to find the others to tell them of success. I got to the opposite end of the property and deceide it was a good place to let out my victory cry "I AM BARNEY". Yes we did not find it and my victory cry became a cry of pain but wouldn't you know it, where I let out that victory cry 2 months ago was only 30 yards away from where we found my buck. I must have done something good as karma had my back. Even though I am saddened to not have a freezer full of buck I was excited to have a trophy that can be mounted on my wall. The trophy will either be a european mount depicting the whole skull and antlers or if my taxidermist has a cape have a full mount created.
